About 3D Secure (3DS)

3D Secure (also known as 3DS) is an added layer of security for online debit and credit card transactions. This additional online authentication step provides a higher coverage against fraud loss. If a merchant does not use 3D Secure, they are liable for fraudulent transactions even if the transaction was properly authorised.
